I found this article, which is a presentation about using technology in the early years. There are videos (very short (less than minute each) – straight to the point), descriptions: what the school does for each grade level pk – 3 , what research states, and what to look for. I reviewed them all in about 15 minutes.

My preschool students loved learning to write this way. Early in the school year, we developed their large motor skills and then slowly refined the fine motor skills in increments until they were able to write on lined paper-ready for kindergarten.
