Wow! What an exciting year for Magoffin County High School and the community within our county?!? Our original idea was to partner each teacher with a community member in a similar field. After beginning our community partnership journey, we discovered we really needed to narrow our focus to include ACT subject areas and partner those core teachers only. This fell in with our problem of practice. I was able to visit community members and request they become partners with our teachers, and was met with eager individuals and excited attitudes. We truly began a partnership within Magoffin County between the school and community. Teachers have reached out and invited their partners into our school to celebrate success after getting test results. We plan to continue our partnership in the future and to include all teachers within the school in the 2019-2020 school year. It’s been a great experience.
