      • Good Stuff Pat. This reinforces other research I’ve been reading on similar topics.

      • One statement in the article shouts out a strong challenge to all educators, “As a country, we need to confront not only how we can compete in a global economy, but also what kind of future we can construct when a sizable segment of our future workforce is not equipped with the skills necessary for higher-level.employment and meaningful p…Read More

      • He was great. I am so glad folk who missed the live Daggett can see his presentation.

      • Thanks for posting Bill Daggett’s presentation. His message remains consistent and is perhaps even more relevant today. I’m interested in your thoughts about his reference to the Common Core as “outdated?”

        • Daggett spoke about that… The Common Core was initially developed in 2008. It is now 2015 and the world has changed so much during that time. The Common Core standards were written to address skills needed in 2008… not in 2015 and beyond.

          • Yes….he explained his reasoning….I would just like to see more evidence for the basis of his statement in addition to dates.

            • Hey Linda… your comments are definitely thought provoking. I have attached below an article that Daggett wrote they addresses some your question. As far as for Common Core… I think we have all said it ourselves… the CCS are the basement, and we must be looking to expand and go beyond them. I took Daggett’s comments as a statement that…Read More

              • I agree, Paul. This publication is a great companion piece for Dr. Daggett’s comments. I especially liked this Point:
“While dealing with the wide array of issues that challenge school leaders daily, exemplary leaders keep a careful eye
on emerging and “disruptively transformative” trends that may impact their schools, teachers, and…Read More
