The PDAS is an on-going process that begins with the formation of a data team followed by the participation of the team in the Data Analysis for Continuous School Improvement based on the work of Victoria L. Bernhardt, PH.D. This workshop is about inspiring schools and school districts to commit to continuous school improvement by providing a framework that will result in improving teaching for every teacher and learning for every student through the comprehensive use of data. It provides a new definition of improvement; moving away from a singular focus on compliance toward a true commitment to excellence. The workshop is a pre-requisite for KVEC’S PDAS RETREAT.
Additional PDAS components are a regional PDAS Retreat and follow-up coaching provided by the KVEC data team.
Integrated in the system is the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle which is a systematic series of steps for gaining valuable learning and knowledge for the continual improvement of a product or process.
• PLAN: Develop a plan for improvment
• DO: Implement the plan
• STUDY: Evaluate the impact according to specific criteria
• ACT: Adjust strategies to better meet criteria
