I feel like a broken record since so many others have mentioned standards based grading, but that has been our district wide push this year, and I have enjoyed it. It has created more work for me as I find I am letting kids retake exams and redo papers more than I have in the past, but I like the mastery that comes from it!

One method of assessment that I use within my classroom is the “gallery walk.” I incorporate movie/TV quotes or song lyrics and hang them on the walls. Yes! Students can collaborate and share many assignments, I can use technology to administer exit tickets, and 1 to 1 gives way to creative presentation opportunities. Socratic.com is great for quick class feedback for bell ringers and exit tickets.

I am familiarizing myself with Google now. So many useful data collection tools. We are using some of these tools to streamline data collection, school wide.

A lot of work, but like you say a lot of pay off no doubt. Are you entering grades in Infinite Campus differently 1,2,3,4… versus 0-100? If so, does Infinite Campus allow you to alter the grade book to accommodate for this?
