My students have really taken on this project and have been excited about teaching younger students. They are answering questions from their younger “students” with confidence, and checking on them from time to time to make sure they are successful in using them. They even took on the responsibility of talking to the teachers of the younger students. They felt like, after experiencing changes with their teachers, they could help make it easier for the teachers in the younger grades by telling them about the things they have learned along the way. I wanted my students to become more confident, but this project has experienced some growth in my students that I never expected, and that is such a bonus.
