Well we have sent the booklet to the printers and are excited to have the finished product in our hands. The students have stopped by to asked me each day when will the book be here. It is great to see them excited for our Heart for the Arts project.

After getting to use the iPad in class, it has been great seeing students feel engaged with being able to teach the content within the classroom. Getting to see them enjoy being able to teach content within in the classroom make me feel we are creating the next generation of teachers!

UPDATE: During the time of implementation of using tablets to build social emotional skills in the Preschool classroom, students have made great strides in working together and helping each other out. According to Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment data my student have increased those skills by 30%.

A great assessment strategy I use is to follow up any summative with student analysis so they will take ownership of their performance. Formative assessments are used throughout lessons to guide instruction.

I love this strategy. I’ve recently started with data notebooks for our weekly target checks in grammar. Students have to keep up with their original scores and the retakes and analyze their progress in each skill. I’m hoping to be able to incorporate this with on-demand writing as well.
